You will be climbing a total of 630 vertical metres over the 3-4 hour 32 Km ride so a reasonable level of fitness (or a grunty eBike) will be required. There are some steep sections on each of the Maunga, so if you are riding an eBike, you will need to be able to control your bicycle going up and down these sections. The view from the top of the Maunga is pure magic. We will have speakers arranged (including Councillor Chris Darby) to talk about different facets of our city from the summits. Of course there will be a break for coffee in Mt Eden village. There will be a few short sections on arterial roads including Mt Eden and Manakau Roads but much of the ride will be in beautiful parks, reserves or off road paths.

Bike Rave is back! Join us on Halloween for a full moon, full noise night ride. Bust out the glow sticks and LEDs, strap some speakers to your bike, dress up in your wildest costume and experience the energy of nocturnal Auckland at its best.
Join us for a pre-party at Electric Bike Team next to Te Ara I Whiti – The Lightpath at 7pm. We’ll set off on a 6km ride at sundown. This is Bike Rave’s smoothest ride yet, using almost entirely off-road cycleways. Take in the sights along Ian McKinnon cycleway as we cruise down to the Northwestern. From there it’s an uninterrupted party on wheels towards Western Springs, where we’ll gather under the Pōhutukawa Six before heading back towards the city. We’ll finish up at Nixon Park with a celebratory dance party on the basketball court.
Bike Rave is for all ages and experience levels and this year’s route is kid and beginner friendly, so bring the whole gang with you.
